An update from Hedlin Farms on Covid-19

Dear friends and neighbors—

The peas are up and the tomatoes are blooming, we’re getting the strawberries weeded and the first early heads of overwintering cauliflower are poking up. It’s a strange time, but it’s still spring, and like any spring in the Magic Skagit, we’re making the most of it, just like we have since 1906.

We just wanted to drop a quick note from all of us at Hedlin Farms on where we’re at and what we’re planning for the months ahead…

We’ve been practicing physical distancing for all farm operations. We’ve added hot water wash stations, and implemented sanitation protocols throughout our operation to ensure the health and safety of our employees and customers. Those practices will extend to our farm stand when we open, based on the best guidance available at that time. We want you to feel as good about eating those strawberries as we do about growing them!

In the meantime (beyond getting seeds in the ground) we’re working hard on the following fronts to minimize contact and exposure risk for all involved:

– Establish an online ordering platform for curbside pickup.

– Encourage cashless transactions (online orders, credit/debit cards, Hedlin Farms Season Pass, e-wallet services).

– Standardize purchase units to minimize handling during storage, display, and purchasing.

Want to lock in your seasonal produce now with all the farm fresh goodness of a CSA and all the choice of a farmers’ market? Purchase our $500 Season Pass by May 15th and you’ll receive an extra 20%, or $100 in store credit! That’s good at our farm stand or any farmers’ market you can find us! Of course, you can always buy a gift card for yourself or loved ones in any amount!

Bought a Season Pass last year and still have it kicking around? Don’t worry, it’s still good!

From all of us at Hedlin Farms, stay safe, flatten the curve, and we’ll see you at the roundabout!
